Sebastian Girner is a freelance editor, writer and publishing professional, specializing in the fields of comics, graphic novels and sequential storytelling.
Since 2008 Sebastian has developed, produced and creatively-guided best-selling and acclaimed comic fiction, for publishers including Marvel Entertainment, Image Comics, VIZ Media and Random House.
From pitch to print, Sebastian offers editorial experience, scheduling and production assistance as well as artistic, narrative and creative guidance for established industry professionals, up-and-comers and enthusiasts alike.
Sebastian began his career at Marvel Entertainment, where he edited such series as THE PUNISHER with writer Rick Remender (Fear Agent) and renowned artists Jerome Opeña (Avengers: Rage of Ultron) and Tony Moore (The Walking Dead), DEADPOOL MAX with writer David Lapham (Stray Bullets) and artist Kyle Baker (Why I Hate Saturn), and PUNISHER MAX with writer Jason Aaron (Scalped) and artist Steve Dillon (Preacher).
As of 2012, Sebastian is a self-employed, for-hire publishing professional, currently editing a number of creator-owned monthly comic series, published by Image Comics including DEADLY CLASS (by Rick Remender & Wes Craig), DRIFTER (by Ivan Brandon & Nic Klein) and the Harvey and Eisner-award winning (Best New Series 2015, Best Continuing Series 2016) SOUTHERN BASTARDS (by Jason Aaron & Jason Latour).
Sebastian was born in Germany, raised in New York and studied Japanese language, history and culture at the University of Bonn, Germany and the University of Shizuoka, Japan.
He lives and works in Brooklyn.
